First trade up and they take a pure RT here. love the pick and the trade. Grade: B+

17 San Francisco 49ers - OG Mike Iupati - 6'5-1/8" 331 - Idaho

They really needed to revamp their offensive line. Iupati is a hell of a left guard and he can really help that offensive line. Grade: A+

49 San Francisco 49ers - S Taylor Mays - 6'3-1/4" 230 - Southern California

The 49ers needed a safety. With their first two picks fixing the offensive line. They take the best pure SS in the draft here. Grade: A+

91 San Francisco 49ers - LB Navorro Bowman - 6'0-1/2" 242 - Penn State

Great pick here getting a guy to team with Willis in the middle. Big Steal here as well. Grade: A+

173 San Francisco 49ers - RB Anthony Dixon - 6'0-3/4" 245 - Mississippi State

The 49ers need a guy to come in and play the #2 RB for them. Dixon can take pressure off of Coffee and Gore. Grade: A

182 San Francisco 49ers - TE Nate Byham - 6'3-7/8" 268 - Pittsburgh

Good value here for a blocking TE. Good pick by the 49ers. Grade: A

206 San Francisco 49ers - WR Kyle Williams - 5'10" 188 - Arizona State

They needed someone to come right in and play a slot role. Good pick for the 49ers. Grade: A

224 San Francisco 49ers - CB Phillip Adams - 5'11-3/4" 193 - South Carolina State

They needed some depth at Corner. Solid reach though. Grade: C

Overall Grade based on talent acquired and team needs met: B+

The 49ers didn't need too much. But they got exactly what they needed on the offensive side of the ball to make some marked improvements. They really beefed up their line both size wise and talent wise and increased depth all across the board with their draft. They are following a very solid plan.
