My favorite player in the draft outside of Andre Roberts. Will be able to jump right in at the 3-tech spot. A bit of a reach though. Grade: B
74 Jacksonville Jaguars - DT D'Anthony Smith - 6'2-1/8" 304 - Louisiana Tech
A bit of a reach and they just took a DT in the first. Not a big fan of this overall unless Alualu plays DE. Grade: D
143 Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Larry Hart - 6'0" 246 - Central Arkansas
They needed a future DE, but I don't think that this was even close to his value. Way too big of a reach. Grade: D
153 Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Austen Lane - 6'5-3/4" 276 - Murray State
This is a great pick here and the BPA. This will allow for the Jags to have a hell of a defensive line in the future. Grade: A
180 Jacksonville Jaguars - RB Deji Karim - 5'8-5/8" 209 - Southern Illinois
The Jaguars sure do love their short, speedy backs. Solid pick here. Grade: C
203 Jacksonville Jaguars - CB/KR Scotty McGee - 5'9" 190 - Jame Madison
Bad pick here. Reached for a UDFA to not even fill a need. Grade: F
Overall Grade based on talent acquired and team needs met: D
The Jaguars didn't really do much to address their needs. They brought in a lot of talent, but I don't think Del Rio really thinks his job is on the line unless they start winning here. He's about as lame of a duck you can get and bringing in Kampmann and replacing the DT's doesn't really increase his chances of staying on.
