2010 Draft Grades - Seattle Seahawks
By Scott DelleFave
Talk about this on our forums!
Hi all I am back for ScarDraft.com and it’s another day of my draft grades for this past year’s rookies.
Note: I will not be curving a grade because they were a later round pick or undrafted, I welcome/encourage discussion via email at ScottDelleFave@Scardraft.com
Once again, grades will range through A-F and there will be the occasional I for incomplete due to an injury before the pre-season.
The format for the first line is the round, the pick in the round they were selected, in the parentheses is the pick overall they were selected, their name, position, their height and weight and the college they attended.
Seattle Seahawks

Round 1, Pick 6 (6) Russell Okung OT 6'5" 307 Oklahoma State
Didn’t fit the film precisely when he arrived, but he was the best offensive tackle in the draft class, and he more than proved it. Grade A

Round 1, Pick 14 (14) (From Broncos) Earl Thomas SS 5'10" 208 Texas
The other first round pick for Seattle this year, and had an excellent rookie campaign with five Interceptions for a total of 68 yards, he also forced a fumble, and had 75 tackles, he is one of the reasons why the Seahawks made the playoffs despite the losing record. Grade A

Round 2, Pick 28 (60) (From Chargers) Golden Tate WR 5'10" 199 Notre Dame
For a second round pick, I truly expected more out of the Notre Dame Alum, he ended the season with 21 catches and 227 yards and 0 Touch Downs in eleven games. Grade C-

Round 4, Pick 13 (111) (From Titans) Walter Thurmond CB 5'11" 189 Oregon
Despite having 37 tackles as a corner back, he did get burned by Robert Meacham in the regular season and didn’t record a single interception. Grade C-

Round 4, Pick 29 (127) (From Jets through Eagles) E.J. Wilson DE 6'4" 286 North Carolina
Ended up in Tampa Bay after they signed him to a futures’ contract, did nothing for Seattle in 2010 besides record a single tackle. Grade F

Round 5, Pick 2 (133) (From Lions) Kam Chancellor FS 6'3" 231 Virginia Tech
Freakishly large Safety, it was the year of it I guess, he had one sack, 23 total tackles, and forced a fumble recovery, his problem this year was he had to play behind a guy Pete Carroll back in 1999 in Lawyer Milloy could be the future Free Safety of this team. Grade B

Round 6, Pick 16 (185) (From Titans) Anthony McCoy TE 6'4" 259 Southern Cal
Played in two games with zero catches, he will need to fight to keep a roster spot next year despite playing for Coach Carroll in the pro and college ranks. Grade F

Round 7, Pick 29 (236) (From Jets) Dexter Davis DE 6'1" 244 Arizona State
He had 13 total tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery, LB coach Ken Norton is high on him, his problem is he’s behind third overall pick Aaron Curry. Grade C+

Round 7, Pick 38 (245) (Compensatory selection) Jameson Konz WR 6'3" 227 Kent State
He suffered a season ending hip injury before the season started. Has a lot of measurable that could develop into something. Grade I
