2010 Draft Grades - Atlanta Falcons
By Scott DelleFave
Talk about this on our forums!
Hi all I am back for ScarDraft.com and it’s another day of my draft grades for this past year’s rookies.
Note: I will not be curving a grade because they were a later round pick or undrafted, I welcome/encourage discussion via email at ScottDelleFave@Scardraft.com
Once again, grades will range through A-F and there will be the occasional I for incomplete due to an injury before the pre-season.
The format for the first line is the round, the pick in the round they were selected, in the parentheses is the pick overall they were selected, their name, position, their height and weight and the college they attended.
Atlanta Falcons
Round 1, Pick 19 (19) Sean Weatherspoon LB 6'1" 239 Missouri
Battled through a knee injury that cost him five games, and subsequently his stats suffered, he had only 42 tackles and one sack for the whole season. Grade C+

Round 3, Pick 19 (83) Corey Peters DT 6'3" 300 Kentucky
Had a total 33 tackles and one sack in 2010, will be the starter for years to come at Defensive tackle. Grade B

Round 3, Pick 34 (98) (Compensatory selection) Mike Johnson OG6'5" 312 Alabama
Seen in a reserve role more, didn’t play in any games, wasn’t hurt during the regular season, just didn’t crack the starting lineup. Grade F

Round 4, Pick 19 (117) Joe Hawley OG 6'3" 297 UNLV
Saw action in thirteen games, and will be seen to light a fire under starter Justin Baylock and could have a bright future. Grade C+

Round 5, Pick 4 (135) (From Redskins through Rams) Dominique Franks CB 5'11" 194 Oklahoma
Despite only playing in 2 games, Franks had only 1 total tackle however he had one interception, if he could get on the field more the future will be bright. Grade C-

Round 5, Pick 34 (165) (Compensatory selection) Kerry Meier WR 6'2" 224
Didn’t play a single down in the regular season due to tearing his ACL in preseason, but is making tremendous strides in his recovery. Grade I

Round 6, Pick 2 (171) (From Lions) Shann Schillinger S 6'0" 199 Montana
Finished the season with eight total tackles, with no interceptions and sacks in fifteen games, his season ended in week 16 when he fractured his ankle vs. the New Orleans Saints. Grade C-
